# Motion graphics

In their 1981 book, *[The Illusion of Life](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/106731.The_Illusion_of_Life)*, Disney animators [Ollie Johnston](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ollie_Johnston) and [Frank Thomas](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frank_Thomas_(animator)) introduced the twelve principles of animation. The pair were part of Disney’s “[Nine Old Men](http://blog.disneystore.com/blog/2012/04/flashback-friday-disneys-nine-old-men.html),” the core group of animators who were instrumental in creating Disney’s animation style.
